20th Century Decorative Art & Design at Christie’s London

Christies is such a London institution, that if you’re visiting London or staying at the Wyndham Grand Chelsea Harbour, you simply must consider a visit to one of their many auctions.

20th Century Decorative Art & Design is the next scheduled auction due on the 27 October and will include “a dynamic and unique commission undertaken by the architect Zaha Hadid (currently designing the Aquatic Centre for the London Olympics in 2012) for an exclusive London club. The large settee with integral off-set table and carpet from 2008 are two examples of pieces that were specifically designed for the club and explore spatial boundaries.”

Each of these pieces is shaped by smooth contemporary lines that are sure to attract the eye of wealthy Londoners looking to furnish expensive penthouses. (estimate: Carpet- £8,000-12,000; Settee and table- £40,000-60,000).
