Three of the best golf courses in London

When one thinks about some of the best golf courses, the Algarve, the south of France or Andalucia immediately spring to mind, with London being well down on the list, or perhaps not making it onto the list at all!

London may be famous for a lot of things, shopping, clubbing and legendary landmarks spring to mind, with golf certainly not being one of London’s most renowned assets. However, conflicting with the widely accepted view that the British capital is, at large, not hooked on the game of golf, London is home to many great golf courses, which would give the French Riviera a run for its money.

Take a look at three of the best golf courses in London.

Finchley Golf Course, Frith Lane, London, NW7 1PU

Designed by architect James Braid in 1930, Finchley Golf Course has never failed to attract a glamorous crowd of London golfers. Situated just a couple of miles north of London, this par-72 course stretches through a heavily wooded area, meaning that the scenery may be stunning but the round is tight.

Dukes Meadows Golf Club, Great Chertsey Road, Chiswick

This glamorous executive golf course is popular amongst London’s business elite, perhaps because of its centralised city location. This exclusive course consists of nine, par-3 holes, which can be played twice from different tees.

Hampton Court Palace Golf Club

Established in 1895, Hampton Court Palace Golf Club is one of London’s oldest golf courses. Set in Hampton Court Palace’s vast, open and stunning grounds, this course is predominantly flat, making it a favourable location for the more novices of London golfers.

Expect for the odd deer making an appearance and disrupting the game, Hampton Court Palace Golf Club provides a tranquil and pleasant spot for a relaxing round of golf.
